Clint Stanaway’s move from television to radio has been officially rewarded with his name added to the Nova breakfast show.
After starting two years ago as newsreader, Stanaway has become an integral part of the program alongside Jase Hawkins and Lauren Phillips.
Jase, Lauren and Clint will now be the brand moving forward.
“It’s both incredibly humbling and a really proud moment for me,’’ Stanaway said.
“Jase and Lauren have been so supportive throughout my career, and I’m genuinely grateful to them, to Nova and to the listeners who’ve backed me every step of the way.”
Stanaway quit his Channel 9 sports job after 25 years in November last year to focus on the radio role.
Phillips said: “Our show has always been built on the friendship between the three of us, so this change makes perfect sense. It’s been a long time coming and this is a really special and proud moment for our show.”
Hawkins joked the update was partly practical.
“Saying ‘Clint’s here too’ multiple times a morning really chews up airtime, so the name change just makes sense,” he said.
“Jokes aside, I couldn’t imagine this show without Clint. We’ve become great mates over the years, and I’m so proud of him. His contribution takes our show to a whole other level, and he absolutely deserves this recognition.”
The show has continued to gain listeners since it was axed by KIIS FM to make way for Kyle and Jackie O.
