Set to be unveiled on Friday, May 15, during Mental Health Awareness Week, the Take Some Breathing Space bench will be in Dunfermline’s Pittencrieff Park thanks to a collaboration between Change Mental Health, NHS 24 Breathing Space, and the Carnegie Dunfermline Trust.

The bench offers a quiet spot for reflection and includes signposting to support services, aiming to help individuals take the next step towards help if needed.

It builds on Change Mental Health’s long-standing presence in Fife, where the charity has provided non-clinical mental health support for more than 30 years.

Susan Grant, head of central services at Change Mental Health, said: “We’ve been part of communities across Fife for decades and we know how much difference it makes when support is right there in your community.

“Putting a bench here in the centre of Dunfermline makes that support part of everyday life – whether that’s a chat, a breather or just knowing there’s somewhere you can go.”

Fife Council’s grounds maintenance team supported the installation.
