Thousands of BTS fans — known as ARMY — filled Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso over the weekend for two emotional, high-energy concerts that marked one of the biggest live music events the city has ever seen.

The beloved international music group had the massive crowd singing along as they performed fan favorites along with energetic choreography. At one point, the seven members — Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook — took a moment to address their love for El Paso, even promising to return.

While some fans stood in long lines for hours, many concertgoers expressed on social media that the performances were worth the wait.

Here are some of the top moments of BTS in El Paso:

‘We promise to come back to El Paso’ BTS addresses crowd

BTS thanked El Paso and showed fans some love in a video shared by KFOX-TV.

“El Paso, everyone, today is our last day — and I feel a little bit sad about that,” Jimin said while sitting on stage, addressing the crowd.

Other band members said they would “miss El Paso so much” and promised to make a return.

Fans light up Sun Bowl Stadium

More than 40,000 fans attended the Sun Bowl each night of the BTS concerts, and aerial images captured a glowing stadium on Sunday night, the night of the band’s final performance, as shared by Fit Fam El Paso.

‘Te Amo’ BTS expresses love for El Paso in Spanish

Another video shared on the BTS ARMY El Paso Facebook page captured the moment when BTS members expressed their love by saying ‘te amo’ to a crowd, which responded with screams of excitement.

Band member V also noted the towering mountains surrounding the Sun Bowl, saying that the landscape “looked like a movie set.”

“I feel like I’m moving a shooting a movie with you guys and you and I are the main characters,” V said.

Fans were treated to an up-close sound check

Ahead of both concerts, fans who had BTS VIP tickets were treated to up-close-and-personal soundcheck performances.

Several videos on social media showed the band dancing along the crowd in Sun Bowl Stadium.

Fans traded freebies, connected with other ARMY

El Paso Times captured photos of ARMY trading freebies, including fans who came from miles and miles away. Freebies include everything from handcrafted keychains to stickers, pins and bracelets.

Many ARMY also posted on the BTS El Paso World Tour Army Facebook page that they enjoyed meeting other fans and experiencing the Sun City.

“Thank you, El Paso, for your hospitality, beautiful mountains, cool mornings, fantastic food, and gorgeous nights,” one member wrote.
