Wire Sculpture
Are you interested in creating an individual piece of Sculpture with renowned artist, Imogen Stafford? Coming soon to Tomhaggard Social Centre.
There will be 2 x 2hr evening taster sessions, a 4hr weekend session followed by a Community Wire and Willow Sculpture, under the Wexford County Council Artist in the Community funding project. Open to all ages from teenage upwards. More details to follow soon.
Yoga

Club Lotto
The St Fintans GAA club in association with St Mary’s Rosslare hold its fundraising lotto each Tuesday evening. Tickets for the draw cost €2 and are available from the usual seller’s or from any committee member. The jackpot now stands at €15,000. The numbers drawn were 11,27,28,30. There was one match three winner Jason Pettit. We would like to thank you all for your generous support.
Clothes Collection
Mayglass National School Parents Association are holding a clothes collection on Friday 29th May. Bags can be left at the school no later than 9.30am on the morning of collection. Please do not drop any bags before or after the collection date as we do not have any storage facilities.
St Fintans
The St Fintans hurling team travelled to Carne to take on neighbours Our Lady’s Island in a league game and in the Keenly contested game the goals scored by the hosts proved decisive and saw them take the spoils on a scoreline of 4-12 to 1-13.
The u-18 hurling team of Bargy Gaels was well beaten by Adamstown while the u-16 hurling team defeated Taghmore Gaels.
At u-14 level the hurling team of Our Lady’s Island/St Fintans scored a comfortable victory over Davidstown/Courtnacuddy.
The u-18 hurling team was fixed to play Mogue O Rahillys in Gusserane later in the week.
Mayglass National School
Great news – The nursery and u-6 sessions are back and is suitable for boys and girls in their last year of preschool. This GAA nursery will include hurling, football and camogie during which games will be played have fun and develop kids agility, balance and co-ordination. CarmenCo Ensemble, A Pocket Opera – Come join us for a wonderful evening’s entertainment on Friday 8th May at 7.30pm in Grantstown Priory, Wellingtonbridge, Wexford, Y35 D4C4. A concert of Spanish and Spanish inspired music presented as a play, with costumes, props and a storyline which roughly follows the story of Bizet’s opera Carmen but told from her point of view. Emily Andrews, flautist/mezzo David Massey & Francisco Correa, guitars. Grantstown Daycare Centre – Would you like to get out of the house, meet people of all ages and have a bit of fun? Each day has something different whether it’s music, games, arts and crafts, movies, quizzes, trips out or just chatting or reading a magazine. If you have a craft or skill that you would like to share with the group we can arrange for you to do a demonstration.
We also have holistic practitioners who are qualified in Sonas and Imagination Gym and a nurse in the centre. Our clients vary in age from mid-thirties to over ninety. If you don’t have your own transport wecan possibly collect you in the morning in one of our buses and drop you home in the afternoon. Lidia, a lady from Australia, on behalf of her friend, has put a small bottle in the local noticeboard in Blackwater village. Her friend’s great grandfather Patrick Cash was from Blackwater and on a whimsical idea she would like anyone who has any info on him to contact her. Details in the bottle.

Bree AC News
Bree AC AGM and 2025 Award Presentations took place on Thursday last in Bree Community Centre. Award recipients were Ruth Hassey (Athlete of the Year), Ava Wilson, Lea Bolger, Eoghan Ennis, Caitlin Harte, Mary Kate Kirwan, Lauren Dempsey, Edmund Crean and Keira Wilson. Best of luck to all athletes competing in the Mr Oil Co Track and Field Championships over the next two weekends.
Rise & Shine Trust Collection
There will be a church gate collection next weekend 9th & 10th May with all funds raised going towards helping children and young adults travel to Lourdes on respite holidays.
