There was her diamond and gold Rebekka Notkin ribbon bracelet, which made its debut during the ‘Our Quality of Life’ conference in March 2025; a necklace by Louise Grønlykke, which Mary first wore in June 2025 for a meeting conference of presidents of the European parliament; and Ray-Ban sunglasses that have been in the royal’s collection since the state visit to France in April 2025.
But there was still space for some treasured favourites. The diamond and gold earrings from Sophie Bille Brahe that adorned her ears have been in the royal jewellery box since 2019. On her wrist, Queen Mary wore the Cartier Tank Francaise watch, which she has owned since at least 2007, three years after she married then-Crown Prince Frederik in 2004. The watch, a favourite of royals like Charlotte Casiraghi, has accompanied the Danish queen for almost two decades of her royal career.

King Frederik and Queen Mary will feel more than at home at Chancellery House, having taken over the residence around the time of their nuptials. The building, which dates from 1731, was given a revamp after belonging to Queen Ingrid for many years, and was the main residence for Frederik and Mary until 2010, when renovations to Frederik VIII’s palace at Amalienborg were completed.
While this look was a casual one for the queen, she proved late last month that she is still able to forge her own path when it comes to the pinnacle of regal formality. At the 80th birthday gala of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden this May, all eyes were on Queen Mary’s tiara, which was a version of Queen Louise of Sweden’s Diamond Floral Bracelet, which Mary herself has reimagined as a diadem.
