Hampton, IA-based OnTheGoMedia has entered a strategic partnership with MTN Broadcasting’s soft AC “Soft Rock 92.9” KDAO-FM Eldora and “Good Time Oldies” KDAO-AM (1190) and FM translators K224FM (92.7) and K279AN (103.7) Marshalltown, assuming the management and programming of both stations.

OnTheGoMedia, which specializes in radio broadcasting, print media, digital content and advertising, already owns and operates country KLMJ Hampton (104.9) and rock “99 The Wave” KQCR Parkersburg, along with the Hampton Chronicle newspaper, which it acquired in March.

“This transition marks a significant milestone in OnTheGoMedia’s commitment to delivering high-quality local content and innovative broadcasting and advertising solutions across North Central, and now Central Iowa,” the company said in a news release. “[KDAO’s staff’s] expertise, local knowledge and passion for the industry remain the heartbeat of the station. By joining forces, we aim to provide even greater resources to our employees and enhanced value to our listeners and advertisers.”

As to how the partnership will impact programming on either station, the release notes that “as with any new venture, listeners and partners can expect some changes in the near future as we integrate our platforms. While these updates will be announced as they roll out, [our] core mission remains unchanged: a steadfast commitment to providing the premier local content the Marshalltown area and surrounding communities deserve.”

The transition comes a year after the passing of MTN Broadcasting founder and Iowa Broadcast Hall of Fame inductee Mark Osmundson. “Mark didn’t just run a radio station, he built a legacy that spanned nearly half a century,” OnTheGo Media President Shawn Dietz says. “Following his passing last year, we feel a deep responsibility to uphold the high standards of service and integrity that were the hallmarks of Mark’s storied career. We are honored to carry his torch forward.”
