Woman dies after being hit by vehicle on SH2 Horokiwi in Wellington

Emergency services were alerted just before 6.30pm.

A woman who got out of her vehicle after a minor crash on a Wellington motorway has been killed after being hit by another vehicle.

Police say the woman was struck on State Highway 2 at Horokiwi, near Lower Hutt, about 6.25pm last night.

“Indications are that the woman had
exited her vehicle after a minor crash, and was then struck by another vehicle,” a police spokesperson said.

“Immediate medical assistance was provided, however sadly, she was unable to be revived.
