Kylie Jenner became a mom at age 20, and she’s been candid about the fact that it hasn’t always been easy. This week, she went on Jake Shane’s podcast Therapuss, where she discussed the less pleasant aspects of her pregnancies.
“My last pregnancy, it really took me out,” she said, explaining that when she was 12 weeks pregnant with her son Aire in 2021, she woke up with “crazy sciatica pain and crazy lower-back pain” that made it hard to walk. She ended up on bed rest. “Lots of things were happening with my vagina. I was three centimeters dilated for a month and a half, two months. The baby was, like, falling out. My doctor was like, ‘You have to stay in bed.’”
Though she says she was in “the best shape” of her life before getting pregnant with Aire, she gained “like 65 pounds” while pregnant. “I ate a pint of ice cream every night,” she says, adding that she craved rainbow sherbert and bagels. “My nausea was horrible with my son, so if I didn’t eat, it’d be really bad.”
Jenner also looked back on finding out she was pregnant with her daughter, Stormi, when she was 19. “I was freaking out,” she said, and was “really scared to tell my parents.” She added, “But there was something just inside of me that knew that I wanted to do this, and I had to make a decision for myself.” After she posted the video revealing her pregnancy and birth, she “sobbed for three hours, because it felt like so much weight on my shoulders, and a big thing I was hiding from the world. I was worried about everyone’s reactions, and it was so emotional.”
Stormi and Aire are now 8 and 4, and Jenner — who is 28 and dating Timothée Chalamet — recently said that she hopes to spend the rest of her 20s focusing on “just me, my businesses, my work, traveling with my kids, [and] enjoying my kids.” But after that, “I do want to have more kids,” she said. I hear the Knicks have great baby merch.
