The country’s fuel stocks are relatively steady following a significant jump in supply last week.

The latest government data to midnight Wednesday show petrol very slightly up, while diesel and jet fuel have dropped slightly.

There are 56.2 days of petrol, 46.3 days of diesel, and 47.7 days of jet fuel either in the country or on the way.

That’s compared to the previous update: 59 days of petrol, 45.2 of diesel and 50.2 of jet fuel.

The government said fuel stocks remain well above minimum requirements, and within normal ranges.

Last week’s increase was due to several large shipments recently embarking for New Zealand, these arrive and stocks are readily used before the next vessells are loaded, which results in a pattern of large increases followed by a period of decline.

Regular shipments are continuing to arrive as expected, and fuel importers have good confidence through confirmed orders to late June.
