A new trailer for the LGBTQ body horror short “Four Itchy Boys” may leave you scratching for your life.
The spot opens with four men walking through a dark hallway as a female narrator says, “It’s a story that will get under your skin.” A jump cut shows one man feverishly scratching the back of his head with a hairbrush and then another man pulls up his t-shirt to scratch his stomach. “A condition with no explanation,” the narrator says.
A hand scratching someone’s back causes bloody tears to the skin.
“Four Itchy Boys,” from writer and director Andrew Hebert, tells the story of four young men quarantined for an unexplainable, unrelenting itch as they prepare for a livestream to try to prove that they’re not the monsters everyone thinks they are. Behind the scenes, a producer is plotting something much more grotesque.
The cast includes Nico Greetham (“American Horror Story,” “Love, Victor,” “Prom”), Gilberto Ortiz (“Atropia,” “On My Block,” “Pockets of Heaven”), Booboo Stewart (“The Twilight Saga,” “Descendants,” “X-Men: Days of Future Past”), Ben Weinswig (“Alone at Dawn,” “Into the Dark,” “Ben’s Sister”), Kim Bonifay (“The Pitt,” “Zoners,” “April X”), Jess Gabor (“Shameless,” “Christy,” “Gringa”) and Luke Barnett (“Dark Winds,” “For All Mankind,” “The Crossing Over Express”).
It was announced on Monday that “Four Itchy Boys” is an official selection of this year’s 34th edition of London’s Raindance film Festival in June.
A graduate of NYU Tisch, Hebert is Los Angeles-based and has spent the last decade in film and TV advertising as a producer and director. He has worked with Jenna Ortega, Billy Eilish, Colman Domingo, Rihanna, Pedro Pascal, Liam Neeson, Kirsten Dunst and Chris Hemsworth.
“Four Itchy Boys” marks Hebert’s return to narrative filmmaking in almost 10 years.
