A crash involving a car and a pedestrian in Havelock North has caused serious injuries to one person.

One person has been seriously injured after a crash involving a pedestrian and a car in Havelock North this morning.

Police were called to the crash on Havelock Rd, between the Karanema Dr and Porter Dr roundabouts, just before 8am.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said ambulance staff treated
the pedestrian and transported them to Hawke’s Bay Hospital in a serious condition.

Traffic was being diverted in the area as emergency services worked at the scene.

A police spokesperson said police were making inquiries into the matter.
