Their country-inspired set impressed judges and audience members alike.
The sisters, who share a lifelong passion for music and storytelling, performed songs inspired by artists including Ella Langley and Maoli.
Jana Keisha Laserna, of John Paul College, earned Supreme Runner-Up and Best Soloist for her rendition of Defying Gravity from the Wicked musical, with judges praising her vocal ability and stage presence.
Originally from the Philippines, Jana discovered her passion for singing at a young age and has continued developing her talent since moving to New Zealand in 2019.

The Rotorua HipHop Dance Crew claimed the Best Large Group award.
Founded by Darcee Manuirirangi in 2023, the kaupapa-driven group focuses on empowering rangatahi through dance, culture and community.
In the Small Group category, Rotorua Girls’ High School students Cherry Wheeler and Nyra Brown were named runners-up for their duet performance of Ariana Grande’s Almost Is Never Enough.
Olivia Holder, also from Rotorua Girls’ High School, received runner-up honours in the soloist category after showcasing her dance talent.
The event was supported by Ara Taiohi, Putake Nui and Rotorua Lakes Council, with prize sponsors including Redwoods Treewalk, Bunnings Rotorua, Polynesian Spa, Skyline Rotorua, Motion Entertainment, Secret Spot and Hells Gate.
Youth Week is a nationwide celebration recognising the creativity, leadership and contributions of young people across Aotearoa New Zealand.
