Prince William was unusually revealing this morning in a radio interview Heart Breakfast—and may have let it slip that he and Kate Middleton could attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding.
After he asked the radio station to play “Opalite” for his daughter Princess Charlotte, a big Swiftie, saying “Charlotte, my daughter, and Louis, to be fair, Charlotte, particularly, is obsessed by Taylor Swift. We went to see her on her Eras Tour and it was amazing.”
Host Jamie Theakston said to the Prince, “We believe there is a big wedding happening this summer.” His co-host Amanda Holden added, “Oh yes! Have you got an invite?” Prince William replied, “No comment. I’m hoping and I’m sure there might be an invitation around but we’ll see.” No details on Swift and Kelce’s wedding have been publicly revealed, but it is rumored to be happening in early July in New York City.
When Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in a post on Instagram, the Prince and Princess of Wales’s official Instagram account liked the slideshow of photos.
Swift met Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte during one of her Eras Tour stops in London. In addition, she and Prince William sang “Livin’ On A Prayer” with Jon Bon Jovi at a charity event at Kensington Palace in 2013.
“To this day, I still do not know what came over me. Honestly, even now I’m cringing at what happened next, and I don’t understand why I gave in,” Prince William said in 2021 of that moment. “But, frankly, if Taylor Swift looks you in the eye, touches your arm, and says, ‘Come with me…’ I got up like a puppy and went, ‘Yeah, okay, that seems like a great idea. I’ll follow you.’”
