Spencer Pratt has distanced himself from being associated with any political party as he admitted not liking politicians after support from President Donald Trump
Spencer Pratt has again distanced himself from the Republican Party as he told his supporters he “hates” politicians.
The Los Angeles mayoral candidate took to X on Saturday, May 23, to disassociate himself from political affiliations as he admitted feeling that everyone is “trying to claim” him as one of them. Spencer, 42, also shared a photo of his name on the ballot on the post where it states he is a “community advocate.”
He wrote, “Everyone is trying to claim me for their tribe. There’s no R next to my name, there’s no D next to my name. I’m not part of a political party, because I hate politicians. I’m just Spencer, husband to Heidi, father to Ryker and Gunner, and I’m a p—– off Angeleno who loves my city and is fed up with what corrupt politicians have done to her.” The update comes as Erika Kirk threw her support behind Spencer.

The post could surprise some as Spencer appeared on CNN just days ago in an interview with Elex Michaelson, where he explained why it was he had become a Republican.
The motivation came when he and Heidi were attracting a lot of negative attention in their reality TV days and receiving threats. Spencer claims law enforcement advised them to get guns for extra protection, and as the Democrats were too anti-gun, he became a Republican.

However, he has made his mayoral campaign message clear, in that he is just a candidate for all, as opposed to being aligned to any political party.
His attempt to distance himself comes after both President Donald Trump and Erika Kirk publicly supported him this week. The Turning Point USA CEO – who took over the role after the murder of her husband, Charlie Kirk – said of the Los Angeles mayoral candidate that, regardless of the outcome of the race, “what he’s doing is authentically American.”
She wrote on X, “See a problem, become a part of the solution. His campaign ads are unconventional, but that’s the point, it’s refreshing.”

Meanwhile, when President Donald Trump was asked about Spencer’s campaign for Los Angeles mayor, he admitted he’d like to see the former reality star “do well” in the race.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, May 20, he said, “I’d like to see him do well – he’s a character. I don’t know, I don’t know him. I assume he probably supports me. Does he support me?… I heard he does. I heard he’s a big MAGA person. He’s doing well.”

Meanwhile, Trump took a swipe at California Democrats, suggesting Pratt could lose due to a “really rigged vote” in the heavily blue state, before pivoting to his own election results.
“If we had Jesus Christ come down and count the votes, I would have won California,” he said. The President claimed he “do[es] great with Hispanics, but it’s a rigged vote.” He mused that California is “one of the most dishonest states for voting.”
