Felix Rosenqvist wins Indy 500 as Marcus Armstrong pipped on final lap

Kiwi Marcus Armstrong was denied victory in the 110th Indianapolis 500 after leading under caution with one lap to go.

Sweden’s Felix Rosenqvist won the last-lap shootout to capture the victory by 0.0233 of a second, the closest finish in race history.

Rosenqvist trailed into the final straightaway but surged
past American David Malukas on the outside just before the finish line to win after 200 laps at the famed 4km Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval.

Scott McLaughlin finished third with Armstrong in fifth.
