A person has died in a single-vehicle crash southeast of Dargaville overnight.

Police say emergency services were notified shortly before 7.50pm on Sunday of the crash, which happened on Arapohue Rd near Rowland Rd.

The Serious Crash Unit has been advised, and the circumstances of the crash are now under
investigation, a spokesperson said.

Hours later, emergency services attended a second serious crash on SH1 south of Whangārei in the early hours of this morning.
