Parramatta and Brisbane are likely set to welcome back two superstars after lengthy injuries lay-offs.

Meanwhile, a Warriors hero has received a crushing blow with fears his NRL career could be over.
FRIDAY MAY 29
Cronulla Sharks vs. Manly Sea Eagles at Ocean Protect Stadium, 8pm AEST
Round 11 Sharks team: 1. William Kennedy 2. Samuel Stonestreet 3. Jesse Ramien 4. KL Iro 5. Ronaldo Mulitalo 6. Braydon Trindall 7. Nicho Hynes 8. Addin Fonua-Blake 18. Hohepa Puru 10. Toby Rudolf 11. Briton Nikora 12. Teig Wilton 13. Jesse Colquhoun 14. Jayden Berrell 14. Siosifa Talakai 15. Billy Burns 18. Thomas Hazelton 19. Mawene Hiroti 20. Braden Hamlin-Uele
Team Tips:The Sharks won’t be forced into making any changes due to injury or suspension, but they could receive skipper Blayke Brailey and star front-rower Addin Fonua-Blake for the tough clash against Manly. Brailey is more likely to appear out of the two and if he does, it’s hard to see Hohepa Puru being dropped from the squad, considering his great performance in Round 11. This would see Jayden Berrell make way.
Last week’s Sea Eagles team: 1. Clayton Faulalo 2. Jason Saab 3. Josh Feledy 4. Reuben Garrick 5. Blake Wilson 6. Luke Brooks 7. Jamal Fogarty 8. Taniela Paseka 9. Brandon Wakeham 10. Ethan Bullemor 11. Jackson Shereb 12. Ben Trbojevic 13. Jake Trbojevic 14. Jake Simpkin 15. Nathan Brown 16. Kobe Hetherington 17. Simione Laiafi 18. Hugo Hart 19. Joey Walsh
Team Tips: Considering the two-day turnaround, it’s hard to imagine Haumole Olakau’atu and Tolu Koula returning to the side after playing for the NSW Blues two nights beforehand. Meanwhile, Lehi Hopoate (suspension) will be available for selection, but Tom Trbojevic (hamstring) won’t be after coach Kieran Foran told Fox League that he is still “three weeks away”. “It will probably just be Lehi at this stage,” Foran added. They will be without Ben Trbojevic (concussion) after he suffered a Grade 1 head knock.

SATURDAY MAY 30
Newcastle Knights vs. Parramatta Eels at McDonald Jones Stadium, 3pm AEST
Round 11 Knights team: 1. Kalyn Ponga 2. Dominic Young 3. Dane Gagai 6. Fletcher Sharpe 5. Greg Marzhew 6. Sandon Smith 7. Dylan Brown 8. Jacob Saifiti 9. Phoenix Crossland 10. Trey Mooney 11. Dylan Lucas 12. Jermaine McEwen 13. Mathew Croker 14. Tyson Frizell 15. Pasami Saulo 16. Cody Hopwood 17. Harrison Graham 18. Fletcher Hunt 20. Francis Manuleleua
Team Tips:Kalyn Ponga and Jacob Saifiti are the only Knights set to take part in Game I on Wednesday. Both will be gunning to back-up but it’ll depend on how they get through the Origin opener. Fletcher Sharpe will move to fullback if Ponga can’t go. Bradman Best (calf) is still a couple of weeks away at least from returning. Outside of Best though, Newcastle have a clean bill of health.
Round 11 Eels team: 1. Joash Papali’i 2. Brian Kelly 3. Jordan Samrani 4. Sean Russell 5. Josh Addo-Carr 6. Ronald Volkman 7. Mitchell Moses 8. Luca Moretti 9. Tallyn Da Silva 17. Charlie Guymer 11. Kelma Tuilagi 12. Jack Williams 13. Jack de Belin 10. Junior Paulo 14. Dylan Walker 15. Saxon Pryke 16. Toni Mataele 18. Apa Twidle 19. Teancum Brown
Team Tips: Conversely, the Eels can lay claim to one of the worst injury tolls in the comp, with six starters out. With that said, there are several stars in line to return this weekend, headlined by Isaiah Iongi. The fullback scored a try in NSW Cup on May 17 in his return from an ankle injury. Hooker Ryley Smith is also set to return as is forward Sam Tuivaiti. Iongi will replace Joash Papali’i at the back while Smith will start in the No.9 jersey, pushing Tallyn Da Silva to the pine. Jonah Pezet pushed hard for a first grade recall in his last outing, impressing in an Eels NSW Cup win.

SATURDAY MAY 30
Wests Tigers vs. Bulldogs at CommBank Stadium, 5.30pm AEST
Round 11 Tigers team: 1. Heath Mason 2. Sunia Turuva 3. Patrick Herbert 4. Taylan May 5. Luke Laulilii 6. Jarome Luai 7. Jock Madden 8. Terrell May 9. Latu Fainu 10. Fonua Pole 16. Alex Seyfarth 12. Kai Pearce-Paul 11. Sione Fainu 14. Tristan Hope 15. Mavrik Geyer 17. Royce Hunt 18. Ethan Roberts 19. Jeral Skelton 21. Bunty Afoa
Team Tips: Tigers co-captain Api Koroisau has served his three-game suspension and will be named in the No. 9 jersey this weekend. He’ll provide a boost this club desperately needs. With Koroisau out, the Tigers went 0-3 with a points differential of -98. Young gun Heamasi Makasini will be considered for selection if fit. He’s slated to return this weekend from a foot injury. With Taylan May out indefinitely and Patrick Herbert suspended, Makasini will likely be called upon. Jock Madden is in doubt after picking up a hamstring injury against Manly. This means that Latu Fainu is set to be named in the halves alongside Jarome Luai.
Last week’s Bulldogs team: 2. Jacob Kiraz 19. Jethro Rinakama 3. Bronson Xerri 4. Enari Tuala 20. Marcelo Montoya 6. Matt Burton 7. Lachlan Galvin 8. Max King 14. Kurt Mann 10. Leo Thompson 11. Sitili Tupouniua 12. Jacob Preston 13. Jaeman Salmon 9. Bailey Hayward 15. Harry Hayes 16. Jack Underhill 17. Alekolasimi Jones 22. Sean O’Sullivan 23. Jed Reardon
Team Tips: Jacob Kiraz was moved to fullback after the out-of-form Connor Tracey was ruled out. Kiraz was sensational in the Bulldogs’ much-needed win over Melbourne and Cameron Ciraldo confirmed in the post-game presser that Kiraz will remain at the back. There’s no timeline set on Tracey’s return. In a huge blow, star back rower Jacob Preston will be out for at least a few weeks with a broken arm suffered early in the Storm clash. Harry Hayes is in line to come into the starting side on an edge. Stephen Crichton is back on deck after Origin duties. That will likely push Enari Tuala back onto a wing. One of Marcelo Montoya or Jethro Rinakama will be dropped. The latter was pretty impressive and might keep his spot over the veteran.

SATURDAY MAY 30
Melbourne Storm vs. Sydney Roosters at AAMI Park, 7.35pm AEST
Last week’s Storm team: 1. Sualauvi Faalogo 2. William Warbrick 3. Jack Howarth 4. Nick Meaney 5. Moses Leo 6. Keagan Russell-Smith 7. Jahrome Hughes 8. Stefano Utoikamanu 9. Trent Toelau 10. Josh King 11. Shawn Blore 12. Ativalu Lisati 13. Cooper Clarke 14. Gabriel Satrick 15. Alec MacDonald 16. Davvy Moale 17. Stanley Huen 18. Joe Chan 19. Manaia Waitere
Team Tips: The Storm won two in a row before crashing back down to earth with a loss to the Bulldogs. Cam Munster and Harry Grant are on Origin duties and both are expected to play 80 minutes on Wednesday. Munster could be held out of Saturday night’s clash as he has been managed at Queensland training this week. Xavier Coates (Achilles) is still at least three weeks away according to Craig Bellamy, with a second scan showing the injury is worse than initially thought. Will Warbrick copped a knock to the ribs but will be ok to play against the Roosters. Shawn Blore will miss a week because of a head knock. Alec MacDonald could move to lock, pushing Cooper Clarke or Joe Chan to an edge.
Round 11 Roosters team: 1. James Tedesco 2. Daniel Tupou 3. Hugo Savala 4. Robert Toia 5. Cody Ramsey 6. Daly Cherry-Evans 7. Sam Walker 8. Naufahu Whyte 9. Reece Robson 10. Lindsay Collins 11. Angus Crichton 12. Siua Wong 13. Connor Watson 14. Egan Butcher 15. Spencer Leniu 16. Nat Butcher 17. Salesi Foketi 18. Fetalaiga Pauga 19. Reece Foley
Team Tips: The Chooks are off a freshen up but there’s still a couple of big names weeks away. Outside backs Mark Nawaqanitawase and Billy Smith won’t return until Round 15 at the earliest. Cody Ramsey suffered a concussion against NQ, but with the club having the bye, he’ll likely be right to go this weekend. With 72 hours between Origin I and the Roosters’ clash, the club’s five rep stars (Sam Walker, Rob Toia, Lindsay Collins, James Tedesco, Reece Robson) will be given every chance to back up. Ramsey is set to replace Tedesco at fullback should the Roosters skipper be rested. “I played all last year Cup at fullback, and I trained at fullback the whole pre-season,” he told the NewsWire. “It’s genuinely my position. I played a lot of wing in NRL too, so I’m very versatile. But I’m more than comfortable to slip in where I need to be, whatever the coach needs.”

SUNDAY MAY 31
Brisbane Broncos vs. St. George Illawarra Dragons at Suncorp Stadium, 2pm AEST
Round 11 Broncos team: 1. Reece Walsh 2. Josiah Karapani 3. Jesse Arthars 4. Gehamat Shibasaki 5. Phillip Coates 6. Ezra Mam 7. Adam Reynolds 8. Preston Riki 9. Cory Paix 10. Xavier Willison 11. Jaiyden Hunt 12. Jordan Riki 13. Patrick Carrigan 14. Ben Hunt 15. Ben Talty 16. Va’a Semu 17. Aublix Tawha 18. Hayze Perham 20. Thomas Duffy
Team Tips: Will this week be the week Payne Haas returns? Michael Maguire and the Broncos desperately need their star prop to return after a three-game losing streak. Haas is due back either this weekend or next after a knee injury has kept him sidelined. Ezra Mam and Gehamat Shibasaki should back up from Origin. Named on the six-man bench, it’s likely either player will only play if there’s an injury in the Queensland backline on Wednesday night. Patrick Carrigan is the other Broncos star named in the Queensland side while Kotoni Staggs is the sole Broncos player in the Blues’ team. Staggs has missed the last two Broncos losses because of suspension. His likely return means Jesse Arthars will push out to the wing, with Phil Coates to drop out of the starting side.
Last week’s Dragons team: 1. Clinton Gutherson 2. Setu Tu 20. Hayden Buchanan 4. Valentine Holmes 5. Christian Tuipulotu 6. Daniel Atkinson 7. Kyle Flanagan 8. Loko Jnr Pasifiki Tonga 9. Damien Cook 10. Toby Couchman 11. Dylan Egan 12. Hamish Stewart 13. Ryan Couchman 14. Luciano Leilua 15. Emre Guler 16. Josh Kerr 17. Blake Lawrie 18. Tyrell Sloan 19. Lyhkan King-Togia
Team Tips: The Dragons lost Hayden Buchanan to a shouler injury against the Warriors, which shifted Clint Gutherson to centre and Tyrell Sloan to fullback. It’s unlikely Gutherson is named at centre next week. A couple of outside backs in Mat Feagai and David Fale are nearing a return while Jaydn Su’A, who was named in the centres against NZ, was a late scratching. Su’A and Moses Suli are some chances to play against the Broncos.

SUNDAY MAY 31
Canberra Raiders vs. North Queensland Cowboys at GIO Stadium, 4.05pm AEST
Last week’s Raiders team: 1. Kaeo Weekes 2. Savelio Tamale 4. Matthew Timoko 5. Xavier Savage 17. Jed Stuart 6. Daine Laurie 7. Ethan Sanders 8. Corey Horsburgh 9. Tom Starling 10. Joseph Tapine 11. Ata Mariota 12. Zac Hosking 13. Jayden Brailey 14. Owen Pattie 15. Jordan Uta 16. Morgan Smithies 18. Chevy Stewart 19. Jake Clydsdale
Team Tips: The Raiders are back at home and looking to rebound from a recent form slump against a renewed Cowboys outfit. The Sunday schedule gives Ricky Stuart’s side the best possible chance of welcoming back Ethan Strange and Hudson Young from Wednesday night’s Origin duties. In their absence, the Raiders will have Daine Laurie ready to deputise at No. 6, and either Zak Hosking or Ata Mariota likely to take on Young’s edge position. Sebastian Kris remains under an injury cloud (quad), meaning Jed Stuart could once again fill the void in the Raiders backline. Canberra will also be without stars Josh Papalii (calf) and Joe Roddy (hand) until Round 14.
Last week’s Cowboys team: 1. Scott Drinkwater 2. Robert Derby 3. Jaxon Purdue 4. Tomas Chester 5. Zac Laybutt 6. Liam Sutton 7. Jake Clifford 8. Thomas Mikaele 9. Reed Mahoney 10. Matthew Lodge 11. Heilum Luki 12. Sam McIntyre 13. Jason Taumalolo 14. Viliami Vailea 15. Griffin Neame 16. Kai O’Donnell 17. Coen Hess 18. Xavier Kerrisk 19. Ethan King
Team Tips: North Queensland travel to the nation’s capital plotting a move inside the NRL’s top four, having won seven of their past eight games. The Cowboys will await Reuben Cotter’s recovery from Queensland Origin duties on Wednesday night, but are otherwise expected to field the same side that triumphed over the Rabbitohs last weekend – with Clifford and Drinkwater as co-captains. Murray Taulagi is a chance of playing this weekend. It’s been a longer recovery than expected for Taulagi after suffering a concussion. The Cowboys are still without Jeremiah Nanai, but he could return against the Raiders. Other players in the casualty ward include Braidon Burns (hamstring, Round 14), Soni Luke (knee, Round 14), Tom Dearden (ankle, Round 16).

SUNDAY MAY 31
Penrith Panthers vs. Warriors at CommBank Stadium, 6.15pm AEST
Round 11 Panthers team: 1. Dylan Edwards 2. Thomas Jenkins 3. Paul Alamoti 4. Casey McLean 5. Brian To’o 6. Blaize Talagi 7. Nathan Cleary 8. Moses Leota 9. Freddy Lussick 10. Lindsay Smith 11. Isaiah Papali’i 17. Izack Tago 13. Isaah Yeo 12. Luke Garner 14. Jack Cogger 15. Scott Sorensen 16. Liam Henry 18. Billy Phillips 19. Billy Scott
Team Tips: The Panthers are likely to endure their biggest test of the season this Sunday at Commbank Stadium, taking on an impressive Warriors outfit in a huge top of the table clash. It remains to be seen which of Penrith’s Origin stars will back up from Wednesday night’s Origin duties, with a total of four Panthers (Isaah Yeo, Brian To’o, Nathan Cleary and Casey McLean) lining up for the Blues. Waiting in the wings for Ivan Cleary’s side will be Jack Cogger, Izack Tago, Liam Henry and cast of others ready to fill the void. Freddy Lussick continues at No.9 in place of injured Mitch Kenny (leg, Round 17), while Liam Martin continues to recover with a knee injury.
Last week’s Warriors team: 1. Taine Tuaupiki 2. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak 3. Ali Leiataua 23. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck 5. Alofiana Khan-Pereira 6. Chanel Harris-Tavita 7. Te Maire Martin 8. James Fisher-Harris 9. Wayde Egan 10. Jackson Ford 11. Leka Halasima 12. Jacob Laban 13. Erin Clark 14. Samuel Healey 15. Tanner Stowers-Smith 16. Demitric Vaimauga 17. Eddie Ieremia-Toeava 18. Luke Hanson 21. Kayliss Fatialofa
Team Tips: In a sad development, Warriors hero Roger Tuivasa-Sheck may have played his last game for the club. The veteran outside back suffered a knee injury against the Dragons and even though he won’t undergo scans until Monday afternoon, according to the NZ Herald, the Warriors believe it’s an ACL rupture, which will end his season. Tuivasa-Sheck has signed with a Super League club from next year, meaning his time at the Wahs could be over. Adam Pompey or Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad will replace RTS in the centres. Andrew Webster is clearly onto a winning formula at the New Zealand Warriors, but his side takes on its biggest assignment this year against the dominant Panthers. Mitch Barnett and Kurt Capewell are both potential starters depending on how they back up from Wednesday’s Origin campaign; failing that, the Warriors will have Jackson Ford and Jacob Laban at the ready. Elsewhere, the Warriors will be without Eddie Ieremia-Toeava (concussion).
Bye: Dolphins, Rabbitohs, Titans
