Police are seeking information from witnesses after a man was stabbed multiple times in the back at a Tikipunga party.

Officers were called to a Townsend Place address about 1.45am on Sunday following reports of a stabbing.

Detective Senior Sergeant Shane Pilmer, Northland CIB, said the man was seriously assaulted
while attending a party with about 20 other people.

Investigators are seeking footage of the incident and are appealing for information as inquiries continue into who is responsible.

The victim was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds and is now in a stable condition.
