Alan Currie is drawing on years of experience working with people across South Ayrshire who live with anxiety, overthinking and emotional pressure.
In April, he published ‘The Rucksack You Carry’, which he hoped to introduce a simple concept in that many people are quietly carrying far more than they realise.
Rather than viewing anxiety as a weakness, Alan explained it as a natural response from a nervous system that has learned to stay on guard.
By breaking this down in a clear, relatable way, the book helps readers make sense of what’s happening inside both their mind and body.
However, the Ayr professional knew that one book just wasn’t enough to cover the depths and patterns of the health condition and wanted to explore it further.
Alan said: “I decided to write the trilogy because over many years I kept seeing the same emotional patterns repeating in people struggling with anxiety, panic, overthinking and emotional overwhelm.
“So many people are functioning outwardly while silently struggling internally, often
without fully understanding why they feel the way they do.”
The author began his career as a psychiatric nurse and mental health nurse in the care sector.
Over the years, he explored various fields and career options, which include fitness, martial arts, owning a gym, and becoming certified in multiple therapies.
However, Alan truly found his passion in hypnotherapy, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) therapy and language patterns.
He now blends all his skill sets and experiences to provide unwavering commitment in helping clients resolve any issue they face.
The trilogy explores the weight people carry, the loops they get trapped inside, and the version of themselves they’re trying to become.
His second book named ‘Why Anxiety Repeats’ explores the repeated emotional and nervous system patterns many people feel trapped inside.
The final book, ‘The Version of You’, which will be released in September, focuses on identity, emotional change and becoming more confident moving forward.

He added: “What I hope people take away from the books is understanding, reassurance and hope.
“I wanted the books to feel human, honest and emotionally real rather than overly clinical or full of jargon.
“I think this discussion is more important now than ever because modern life has normalised emotional overwhelm for so many people.
“People are under constant pressure, mental noise and emotional stress, yet many still feel misunderstood or alone in what they’re experiencing.
“The books were written for the people quietly holding themselves together while feeling overwhelmed inside.”
The books are available as an eBook (£2.99) and paperback, with signed copies available directly from the author.
