A new Boyzone documentary is set for release later this year, going behind the scenes of the Irish boyband’s final ever reunion shows and exploring unresolved tensions ahead of their last concerts together.

A forthcoming Boyzone documentary promises a “funny, raw and revealing” glimpse into the boy band ahead of their final performances.
Last year saw the release of Boyzone: No Matter What, a three-part documentary that chronicled their journey to stardom.
Now, cameras are once again tracking the Irish boy band for One for the Road, this time documenting their preparations as they reunite one last time.
In September last year, an announcement confirmed that all four original members – Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham, Keith Duffy and Shane Lynch – would be reuniting for a special one-off concert at Emirates Stadium on June 6. Due to overwhelming demand, an additional show was scheduled for June 5.

The upcoming documentary unfolds “against the backdrop of decades of personal history and the pressure of thousands of expectant fans”, while also revealing the band “carrying unresolved tensions and unfinished business from their final tour” in 2019, reports the Irish Mirror.

It’s been hinted that they’re determined to conclude on their own terms with a farewell that both they and their supporters desire.
Discussing the forthcoming release, executive producer Dov Freedman described the reaction to the first series as “incredible” and noted it shattered records for Sky Documentaries.
“I think audiences really engaged in a celebrity doc with such raw truth and honesty,” he said.
“We’re incredibly privileged to be working with the boys again and telling the story of their final chapter.”
Sky’s head of documentary commissioning Hayley Reynolds stated: “Boyzone: No Matter What sparked an extraordinary outpouring of love for the band and we’re thrilled to be working with Curious (Films) again to document this landmark reunion – something that may never have happened had the boys not approached telling their story with such honesty and candid testimony.”

One For The Road has been described as a “warm, funny, raw and revealing story of friendship, forgiveness, ageing and legacy”, which also chronicles the lasting connection between Boyzone and their devoted fanbase.
Established by talent manager Louis Walsh in 1993, Boyzone have put out seven studio albums and shifted more than 25 million records across the globe.
The group parted ways in 1999 before making a comeback in 2007. Tragically, just two years later, member Stephen Gately passed away from a congenital heart defect at the age of 33.
Boyzone embarked on their final tour in late 2018 to mark their 25th anniversary, after which the band went their separate ways once the tour concluded.
