Tina Fey has responded to the viral images that saw Timothée Chalamet aggressively roasted over manspreading next to her at a recent New York Knicks game.
During a chat with Travis and Jason Kelce for their New Heights podcast, the SNL comedian revealed what really happened when the Marty Surpreme actor was allegedly rudely invading her personal space.
“I should start by saying that Timothée Chalamet was nothing but lovely, super friendly. Kylie was friendly and delightful, we had a great time,” she clarified at the beginning of their chat about the viral moment.
“It wasn’t until the next day that I saw all these manspreading things, but I will say you’ve got to remember for every amount of it, he’s sitting like this and manspreading,” she says, demonstrating with her hands, “I’m doing the opposite.”
Rather than Timothee taking up the room as it appeared, Tina says the space was fairly distributed according to where each one needed it the most.
“I got a big old can,” she laughed. “Timothée was taking the front, my big old can was taking the back. We had no beef!”

Timothée, with his beauty mogul girlfriend Kylie Jenner to the other side of him, was slammed for taking up so much room courtside at the NBA game between Atlanta Hawks and the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. In the same row as actor Ben Stiller and his wife Christine Taylor, Tina was seen with her legs jammed together and hands tucked in between them, appearing as though she was unable to move.
At the time of the image going viral, body language expert, Louise Mahler, told news.com.au that Tina clearly appeared “threatened” seated next to the actor.
“Timothée is showing enormous enthusiasm, but in an aggressive posture in several ways. His legs are spread. He is slapping his hands together. His eyes are wide. His forehead is raised. He is leaning forward and his head is taken in front of his body with a lot of neck tension. This is like an animal in attack,” she said.
The internet also lit up criticising the star for yet another moment that they believe deserves no forgiveness, with one labelling him an “inconsiderate tool” and another claiming that his body language was a “deal-breaker” in their eyes.
