BUFFALO, N.Y. — A new business opening on Buffalo’s West Side offers people a way to release built up stress or frustration in a safe and controlled environment.
So Anxious Rage & Paint on Friday held its grand opening at 415 Rhode Island St. It’s what’s commonly known as a “rage room,” a place where people can take their anger out on breakable items.
The owners told 2 On Your Side that it’s a healthy way to deal with mental health struggles.
“The idea for this business came out of an extremely emotionally draining and life-changing event my fiancé and I went through,” co-owner Ashanti Brown said.
“After struggling to find an outlet to help cope, we realized that there was a need for people to feel seen and free to release frustration without judgment. We are providing an accessible, engaging, and real way to take care of your mental health.”
Along with individual sessions, they plan to have group events focusing on guided reflection, journaling, and community conversation.
