It’s time to polish off your dancing shoes and get your ball gown ready, because it’s almost that time of year again. The BBC has unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing, offering viewers a sneak peek at what’s to come when the show returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday, September 20.

The 30-second snippet features Strictly’s Professional Dancers and Head Judge Shirley Ballas savouring the last moments of summer at a fabulous pool party, set in the grounds of a lavish mansion.

The trailer provides an early glimpse of a scintillating full-length routine that will be part of Strictly’s eagerly-awaited Launch Show, airing later this month. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter.

The party swiftly transforms into a stunning group performance, featuring appearances from fellow Strictly judges Anton du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse, as well as the introduction of Strictly’s brand new professional dancers, Alexis Warr and Julian Caillon, whose entrance creates quite a stir.

Much to the excitement of fans, Strictly Come Dancing’s launch show will also disclose which of this year’s 15 celebrities will be partnered with which professional dancer, as they each meet their dance partner in a series of specially-filmed, surprise-filled sequences.

This year’s line up includes a social media star, a Neighbours legend, TV personalities and sports stars. You can find the whole list here.

Fans of the show will also be thrilled to see routine from last year’s winners Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell, as well as an exclusive performance from Jessie J, and a host of Strictly surprises.

Once again, the series will be presented by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman who will take us through Strictly’s going ons from week to week until the live final on Saturday, December 20.
