Cranford Hospice development and engagement director Carol-Ann Stubbs said the response from the community to the event was overwhelming and humbling.
“It was a truly special evening, filled with remembrance, connection, and support,” she said.
The walk is one of Cranford Hospice’s fundraising events and contributes towards its annual goal of raising $4 million to provide compassionate, specialist palliative care services across Hawke’s Bay.
Funds raised help hospice care remain available to patients and their whānau, whether in the hospice, at home or in the community.
Event organisers said the continued support from the community highlighted the deep connection many Hawke’s Bay families have with Cranford Hospice and the essential role it played.
