Two episodes into a new season of Dancing With the Stars, contestant Danielle Fishel is offering an up-close look at the brutal injury she’s already sustained.
The Boy Meets World alum shared footage Friday showing her lip syncing to “Cater 2 U,” the 2005 song from Destiny’s Child, as she looks over a massively bruised leg. She added the words, “How I talk to my knees after 4 weeks of rehearsal and 2 live shows.”
She captioned the clip, “I promise my leg feels better than it looks.” Punctuating it with the laughing and crying face emoji.

The actress is paired this season with pro Pasha Pashkov. The two have already danced the tango and, in the second episode, a cha-cha to the song “Rhythm of the Night” by Corona for One-Hit Wonders Night.
“I have a hamstring tear that happened here at dance,” Fishel explained to Entertainment Tonight after her performance, “and then I had a deep tissue massage, and it broke every blood vessel in the back of my leg.”
She added that a cartwheel quickly followed by a split was “a lot,” referring to a move she performed on the live show, injury and all.
Fishel was pushing through the pain, she said, and her doctor has told her he is treating her as if she were an athlete competing in the playoffs.
Fishel, who relied on body makeup during her dance, needn’t have worried, because she and Pashkov were safe.
On the Sept. 17 episode of Fishel’s podcast, Danielle With the Stars, she flagged how she’d already been hurt.

“Right before I went out for the live show, after having gone all out for five other runs for dress rehearsal and practice, my legs started really getting tight and I was like, ‘What am I going to do?'” she said. “And I kept trying to stretch a little bit, wasn’t really working. It was really cramping and then adrenaline just took over in the middle of the dance and I was able to do it.”
Fishel and the other 11 celebrity contestants who remain in the competition are set to return to the dance floor on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
