Crews fight to contain major workshop fire on State Highway 1 in Te Hana

A section of State Highway 1 has been closed as multiple fire engines attend a factory fire in Auckland’s Rodney District.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand received multiple calls reporting the blaze in Te Hana, 5km north of Wellsford, at 4.34pm.

Crews arrived to find a “well-involved” fire at a
workshop and were working to contain the blaze.

Firefighters were using a ground monitor to battle the fire and were focused on protecting surrounding buildings from the flames.
