The Hawke’s Bay Expressway is closed in both directions at Westshore after a crash early this morning.

Emergency services were called after a vehicle crashed into the median barrier shortly before 4.30am.

No significant injuries were reported.

The expressway remains closed between Prebensen Drive and Watchman Rd while repairs are
carried out to the damaged barrier.

The road is expected to remain closed for several more hours, with motorists advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
