Salakaia-Loto was given a yellow card for his role in the incident, which wasn’t upgraded to a red, with the video referee deeming the injury was caused by Sititi dropping low into the tackle and then Ahio’s head making contact with his.
Fans booed Salakaia-Loto, who scored the opening try of the game, when he returned to the field.
The Chiefs went on to win the match 46-24, and after the match, Sititi’s teammates send their thoughts and prayers to him.
“Never nice seeing your teammate like that,” Chiefs captain Luke Jacobson told Sky Sport. “We know he’s in the best of hands, but thoughts and prayers to him and his family.”
