He’s made subtle tonsorial tweaks to the haircut over the years, Suzanne told RNZ’s The Panel.
“It’s gone from a mullet to a skullet to a skullet with a frullet and now back to a skullet.”

Currently, Charlie has a little more hair up top, she says.
“It’s got a little bit more growth on it now, so it’s tolerable. I can cope with that. But when it’s shaven completely, I’m not so keen.”
He’s pretty set on the look, she says.
“Well, it’s been six years. I can’t see it going away any time soon. But let’s hope.”
She doubts it’s making her son popular with the local girls.
“He likes it and it’s his hair. We have compromised because he got rid of the little tuft at the front which is called a frullet, the Jonah Lomu little bit. That was really disgusting.”
She also doubts whether the prospect of future baldness will deter him.
“At the moment, he’s loving it and not prepared to budge with it any time soon so I can’t really do much about it.
“Our friend who is bald said to him every time he shaves it, ‘Charlie one day you’ll be wishing you had hair’, but he comes from a family of thick-haired people, and I don’t think he’s going to go bald any time soon – unless it’s by choice.”
