Roberts Metro Broadcasting urban oldies “Foxy 106.9” St. Louis, on FM translator K295CQ and KXBS-HD2, was among the big winners of the 2026 Missouri Broadcasters Awards announced June 6 during the Missouri Broadcasters Association’s annual convention.
In addition to winning Large Market Radio Station of the Year, “Foxy” was also awarded Single Subject Program and Best Opinion Commentary for the station’s “Voice of St. Louis” show, as well as Best Single Entry Commercial Announcement.
“All four awards are testament to our team’s dedication to quality, creativity and service to our community,” “Foxy 106.9” PD Don “DJ Wrekk-1” Williams says. “These wins reflect our relentless pursuit of excellence and our commitment to representing the voice and culture of St. Louis.”
Other Station of the Year winners include Zimmer Radio’s “94.3 Cat Country” KATI Columbia in the Medium Market category, and Go Productions country “107.9 The Coyote” KCLQ Lebanon for Small Market. Both KATI and KCLQ also won for Air Talent/Morning Show, for “Hilley and Hart” and “The Coyote Morning Show with Crystal,” respectively.
Steel City Media adult hits “102.1 Bob FM” KCKC Kansas City won for both Large Market Air Talent Morning Show, for “Mornings with Jen Johnson,” and Non-Morning Show for “Afternoons with Natalie Rush.” Other Non-Morning Show awards went to Mid-West Family Broadcasting rock “Q92.9” KQRA Springfield’s “Nights with Leslie” (Medium Market) and Better Newspapers country KKDY (102.5) West Plains’ “Big Jim’s Big Lunch” (Small Market).
In the news and sports award categories, University of Missouri/St. Louis Public Radio news/talk KWMU (90.7) St. Louis’ Marissanne Lewis-Thompson won for Large Market Newscast, while its “Broadway on a Football Field” story covering Drum Corps International events won Large Market Sports Report. Zimmer Radio talk KZRG-AM (1310, and translators at 102.9 and 105.9) Joplin’s Ted Bojorquez won Medium Market News Anchor, and the station’s “News with Steve Scott” won Medium Market newscast.
Other News Anchor awards went to Audacy news/talk KMOX-AM-FM (1120/104.1) St. Louis’ Michael Calhoun (Large Market) and Odle Media Group news/talk KFMO (1240 AM) Park Hills’ Dustin Kopp (Small Market), while Small Market Newscast was awarded to Carter Media country “The Farm 100.7” KMZU Carrollton’s Caleb Brownley. Other Sports Report awards were given to Zimmer Radio sports KTGR-AM (1580, and translators at 100.5 and 105.1) Columbia for its Mizzou vs. Arkansas pre-game (Medium Market) and Northwest Missouri State University news/talk KXCV (90.5) Maryville for its story “Maryville Native Plays in Super Bowl LX.”
