Four fire trucks and two tankers were sent to the single-storey house fire in Kaikohe.

About 25 firefighters drawn in from across the Far North spent four hours battling a house fire in Kaikohe overnight.

Fire and Emergency was called at 1.04am, with the single-storey home engulfed by fire when crews arrived, Fire and Emergency northern shift manager Garreth Lewis said.

Four fire trucks and two water tankers were sent from Kaikohe, Ōkaihau, Kawakawa and Kerikeri.

All residents had been accounted for, Lewis said.
