She continued to recall how she’d written Ron a letter “about how grateful I was for him” before going away for a week earlier this year.
In it, she praised him for “how hard he worked for us growing up and how much I love him”.
Teigen said: “I am forever grateful for the moment I handed him the letter, and all our years before.”
Alongside the emotional caption, Teigen shared a video of her dad complaining about salmon, and said: “If you didn’t know my dad, my dad hated nearly everything in the world that wasn’t a bass guitar, swing dancing, wood carving, animals, YouTube, or his family.
“I have hundreds and hundreds of videos of him just being mad at things he isn’t even doing, watching, or eating. They make me so happy now.”
She concluded by saying how much she loves her dad, and said: “I will talk to you every night.
“Thank you for being such a great dad… Until we complain again.”
In the comments section, Teigen said: “The video is my dad talking about raising me in the Pacific Northwest. He really loved it but boy did he hate salmon.”
Teigen’s husband Legend, who has four children with his other half, was among those commenting on her post, as he wrote: “We love you so much Papa Ron. I’m so glad you got to spend so much time with your grandbabies. I loved seeing you beam with pride at the beautiful family you helped create.”
Jenna Dewan wrote: “Oh Chrissy…I’m sending you so much love.”
As one of Teigen’s friends added in her comment: “Your dad was simply one of a kind and you definitely got your sense of humour from him!
“He will always be one of my favourites and I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m so glad I got to enjoy him as we grew up.
“No matter how old we may get, nothing can ever prepare us for the loss of a parent, especially one as memorable as your dad!
“Can’t wait to give you a big hug and cry together in person, love you so much!”
Ron hit headlines in 2018 for getting a tattoo of his daughter’s face on his left arm.
The next year, he filed for divorce from Teigen’s mum Vilailuck “Pepper” Teigen.
