Anyone with teenagers knows that even the grandest of homes can feel surprisingly cramped once you factor in the attitudes, appetites, moods, hormones and revolving door of friends. Add a lifestyle built around travel, sport and the outdoors, and suddenly 11,000 square feet—with six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and three and a half bathrooms—sounds perfectly reasonable for a family with three teens.
Such was the case for the family of five who sought the help of Wendy Labrum Interiors. Having engaged Labrum’s studio for their everyday home in Austin, Texas, they then turned their attention to their mountain escape in Park City, Utah. Situated in Tuhaye, a private retreat, golf community and resort nestled into the Wasatch Back region of the Rocky Mountains, the home is a contemporary design by architect Ron Lee of Lee Design Group. It’s sizeable, with incredible views of Mount Timpanogos, Deer Valley and the Jordanelle reservoir—“but while impressive in scale, it’s cosy, warm and layered,” notes principal Wendy Labrum.
