A lip reader has revealed the five-word comment King Charles III made to his wife Queen Camilla as they took part in the royal carriage procession during this year’s Trooping the Colour.
The royal family gathered on Saturday to celebrate the King’s birthday with a ceremonial parade in central London, which featured a military procession involving over 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians.
At one point during the celebration, King Charles, 77, and Queen Camilla, 78, were seen engaging in a serious conversation while riding by carriage.
Lip-reading specialist Nicola Hickling watched the live broadcast of the parade and told The Express that the monarch made a five-word confession to his wife during the parade.
“I’m in a right mess, (mumbles) it’s a mess,” he allegedly said, seemingly referring to an upcoming meeting, the publication reports.
Camilla soothed her husband, telling him not to worry about the matter on his mind, to which he replied: “We shall wait and see them on Monday; it must be done.”
Elsewhere in the conversation, he asked his wife to stand up as she was sitting on his coat.
“Could you get up? It’s trapped, I need to pull it out so I am comfortable.”
Another snippet of the parade showed the King allegedly saying: “Come on, let’s wave.”
Hickling kept a close eye on the conversations among the royal family at Trooping the Colour this year, with the lip reader telling Daily Mail of Catherine Middleton’s conversation with her eldest son George, 12.
According to Hickling, the Princess of Wales, 44, was filled with admiration for her husband, Prince William, 43, who rode on horseback in Full Ceremonial Guard Order wearing the Welsh Guards regalia.
“He looks so handsome riding in his uniform,” she told Prince George while arriving by a horse-drawn carriage.
The eldest son was seemingly left embarrassed by the affectionate comments made by his mum, prompting Kate to double down, adding: “I think it’s gorgeous, George.”
