Former Albany Medical Center NICU patients reunite with caregivers at event.
ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT)- Families reunited with Albany Medical Center NICU caregivers this weekend at a celebration for former patients and their recovery.
Former patients from the NICU at Albany Med spent the day with caregivers from the Bernard and Millie Duker Children’s Hospital. They met at the Italian Community Center Center in Albany for games and food.
“The plan, once you’re discharged from the NICU, is to not see them again in the hospital setting,” said Division Chief, NICU at Albany Med, Meredith Monaco-Brown. “So it’s always great when it’s a fun day and a good time.”
This is the third year Albany Med has reunited former patients and caregivers. Organizers said the event has continued to grow.
