An Exclusive Interview with Sahil Jain, Chief Operating Officer, Jeena Sikho Lifecare Limited (Jeena Sikho HiiMS)
As Chief Operating Officer of Jeena Sikho Lifecare Limited, Sahil Jain is transforming India’s healthcare landscape. In this interview, he reveals how HiiMS is scaling integrated medicine to make holistic, chronic disease management accessible nationwide.
You started your career at the intersection of IT and business. How did that dual foundation shape your approach to leadership today?
Sahil Jain: My professional journey has given me exposure to both technology and business functions, and that combination has shaped the way I approach leadership today.
Technology taught me the importance of efficiency, systems thinking, and problem-solving, while business helped me understand customer needs, market dynamics, and organisational growth.
At Jeena Sikho HiiMS, I have had the opportunity to apply both perspectives simultaneously. Over time, I realised that the best decisions are those that balance operational efficiency with business impact. As a leader, I always try to ensure that every initiative is not only technically sound but also contributes meaningfully to the organisation’s long-term objectives.
You’ve handled both IT infrastructure and marketing simultaneously at Jeena Sikho HiiMS. How did managing these two very different functions shape your understanding of business growth?
Sahil Jain: Managing IT and marketing at Jeena Sikho HiiMS gave me a broader understanding of how growth actually happens. Marketing helps build awareness, trust, and engagement, while technology ensures that the experience we deliver is seamless and scalable.
Working closely with both functions showed me that growth is not driven by visibility alone. It comes from creating a strong customer journey and supporting it with efficient systems.
At Jeena Sikho HiiMS, this understanding helped us focus on both customer acquisition and customer experience, which are equally important for sustainable growth.
What has been the biggest shift for you moving from being a functional leader to a full-spectrum operational leader as COO?
Sahil Jain: The biggest shift has been moving from managing individual functions to looking at the organisation as a whole. Earlier, my focus was largely on driving results within specific departments. As COO of Jeena Sikho HiiMS, my responsibility is to ensure that every function works together towards a common vision.
Today, my decisions involve people, processes, customer experience, operational efficiency, and future growth plans. The role has taught me the importance of collaboration and alignment. Success is no longer about how one department performs but about how effectively the entire organisation moves forward together.
In your experience, what is harder to scale in a growing organization, technology systems or people systems, and why?
Sahil Jain: In my experience, people systems are more challenging to scale than technology systems. Technology can be upgraded, automated, and standardised with relative ease. People, however, bring different perspectives, aspirations, and ways of working.
As Jeena Sikho HiiMS continues to grow, maintaining alignment across teams becomes increasingly important. Building a strong culture, ensuring effective communication, and keeping everyone connected to a shared purpose requires continuous effort.
Technology can support growth, but people remain the driving force behind any organisation’s long-term success.
Healthcare and wellness are rapidly evolving industries in India. What do you think most companies misunderstand about scaling in this space?
Sahil Jain: One of the biggest misconceptions is that scaling is only about increasing presence or expanding operations. In healthcare and wellness, growth is built on trust. People choose healthcare providers based on credibility, outcomes, and the confidence they have in the care being delivered.
At Jeena Sikho HiiMS, we believe that expansion should always be supported by quality, consistency, and authenticity. Organisations that focus only on numbers often overlook the importance of patient trust. Sustainable growth in healthcare comes from creating value for people and maintaining that trust over time.
How do you ensure that technology decisions stay aligned with business goals rather than becoming isolated technical upgrades?
Sahil Jain: At Jeena Sikho HiiMS, every technology decision starts with a business objective. Before adopting any solution, we ask ourselves what challenge we are trying to solve, how it will improve outcomes, and what measurable value it will create.
Technology should support business growth, improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experience, or strengthen decision-making.
Equally important is collaboration between business and technology teams. When both functions work closely together, technology becomes a strategic tool that helps the organisation move forward rather than simply being another upgrade.
Ultimately, Sahil Jain’s vision balances robust corporate growth with deeply rooted wellness values. Under his operational leadership, Jeena Sikho isn’t just expanding its medical footprint—it is actively pioneering a healthier, disease-free future for India.
