If he had been convicted of all the initial charges – first-degree rape, simple criminal damage to property, domestic abuse battery by strangulation, simple robbery and false imprisonment in the assault – he would have faced a life sentence.
The Danger (Been So Long) hitmaker had been accused of beating, choking and robbing the woman, who alleged he took her keys and phone and raped her while she searched for money he had taken. She claimed he eventually allowed her to leave after forcing her to send him money via CashApp.
Mystikal previously spent 18 months in the Caddo Correctional Centre from 2017 to 2019 after being charged with first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping but the charges were dismissed due to lack of evidence in 2020.
The former US Army combat engineer also served 81 days in East Baton Rouge Parish Jail in 2012 on a misdemeanour charge of domestic abuse battery.
Mystikal also spent six years at Elayn Hunt Correctional Centre for sexual battery and extortion against his hair stylist as well as two misdemeanour counts of failing to file tax returns for 1998–99.
