Regarding your article on ethanol conversion in the May issue of The Connexion, I got a kit fitted to my car last year.
It is a GMC Yukon from 2000, so it was right at the limit for possible conversion.
I had some issues with cold-starting in mid-winter (but I live in the Alps). It took two or three key turns, whereas it would start first time with petrol.
I also had some issues with the contrôle technique as their machines did not register the change in fuel. I was advised to run the car on E98 once in a while, which I have done.
I did not use an official fitter as the person in Grenoble was very rude and wanted to charge me twice as much as other quotes I had received.
On the whole, I am chuffed to bits with the conversion. As you can imagine, it saves me a great deal of money driving a 5.3-litre V8 vehicle!
