Emergency crews worked to free a trapped person after two cars and a bus collided in South Auckland this evening.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand shift manager said two people were seriously injured in the crash, which happened about 5pm at the intersection of Stancombe Rd and Carlos Drive
in Flat Bush.

Three fire engines rushed to the scene, where crews used extrication equipment to free one person.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said two patients with serious injuries were taken to Middlemore Hospital, while a third person with minor injuries did not require hospital treatment.
