Police have seized hundreds of cannabis plants after an operation targeting organised crime groups in Auckland.

Acting Senior Sergeant Corey Foster, of Auckland City West Police, said officers executed four search warrants on Tuesday at properties in Hillsborough, New Windsor, Mt Roskill and Mt Albert as part of “Operation
Green” to target criminal activity in the area.

“As a result, police located and dismantled several sophisticated indoor cultivation setups, seizing approximately 486 cannabis plants in varying sizes, along with associated equipment,” Foster said.

“By locating and seizing these cannabis plants, we have prevented them receiving payment that would have gone to fund a range of organised criminal activity in our community.”
