Boston-based band Little Lies is bringing the lush, layered sounds of Fleetwood Mac to a new audience across New England.
With millions of records sold and a legacy spanning decades, Fleetwood Mac’s music continues to captivate audiences and inspire new fans. With their music still as relevant as ever, the tribute act aims to keep the band’s spirit alive.
The eight-member act is touring the northeast region this year. We caught up with lead singers Sara Achorn and Cate Rogerson, guitarist Adam Joe and bassist Art Papa to get to know the band a little better.
The band formed in the aftermath of the pandemic, when all shows were shut down. They decided on a tribute because at the time, those were the acts that were getting the most gigs booked.
“I think for me at least, you know, playing at all was the big thing, getting anywhere to play anything. And I would have learned anything to make it happen,” Papa said.
After the first three months, more people started showing up and began a personal connection with the group.
“It really took on so much more energy than I think any of us really expected,” Joe said.
As their audiences grew both in numbers and energy, they realized that they have influenced the new generation.
“Gen Z has really claimed the band in a way that I don’t think they really claim, like other classic acts”, said Achorn.
“The young ones, they yearn for the Mac,” Rogerson joked.
Many who attend a show recognize the music they hear, but sometimes the band pops out a surprise.
“One of the most common things people say to us at our shows is, wow, they wrote that,” Papa said. “They have a ton of tunes that nobody knows they actually did.”
