Rain or shine, golfers turned out to support local healthcare at the Bethesda Foundation’s annual Drive for Excellence Golf Tournament at Steinbach Fly-In Golf Club on June 19.
Executive director Alisa Harder said the tournament has been a staple fundraiser for more than three decades and remains one of the foundation’s key annual events.
“We help support healthcare in Steinbach and surrounding areas,” said Harder. “That includes the hospital, doctor’s clinics, personal care homes, and other healthcare needs in our community.”
Harder said all funds raised through sponsorships, golfer registrations, and on-course contests will support the foundation’s work throughout the region.
A total of 124 golfers were expected to participate in this year’s Texas Scramble format tournament, with prizes awarded in men’s and mixed divisions.
Harder said strong community support is essential to helping maintain and improve healthcare services in the region.
“The thing about healthcare is it affects every single person in our community,” she said. “To see the community come around us and support healthcare and try to build Steinbach to have the highest quality healthcare possible just means the world.”
