MPs scrutinising the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment on Thursday briefly found the tables reversed, when the environmental watchdog softly admonished them for not heeding his advice.
By the end of the Scrutiny Week hearing, however, early glimmerings were visible of a potential new working partnership to better investigate environmental spending across government.
