Hip-hop sensation Wiz Khalifa will take the stage at both of Illinois’ state fairs this summer, organizers announced on Tuesday.
The GRAMMY and Golden Globe-nominated artist is set to perform at both on Aug. 19 at the Illinois State Fair Grandstand in Springfield and on Aug. 29 at the Du Quoin State Fair Grandstand.
“Bringing an artist like Wiz Khalifa to both Springfield and Du Quoin shows the strength and reach of our state fairs,” said Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Jerry Costello II. “These fairs continue to attract nationally recognized entertainers and provide fairgoers across Illinois the chance to experience major live performances close to home. Whether you’re in Central Illinois or Southern Illinois, these concerts help make our fairs true entertainment destinations each summer.”
Khalifa rose to fame in 2011 after the release of Rolling Papers, his major label debut album that featured global hits such as “Black and Yellow,” “Roll Up,” and “No Sleep.” Since then, he’s released several popular tracks, including “See You Again,” which topped charts in 95 countries.
Tickets for both performances will be sold through Ticketmaster.
Du Quoin State Fair tickets are available now via Ticketmaster, with prices ranging from $45 to $55 depending on the ticket tier.
Illinois State Fair tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on June 27. Prices range from $55 to $120.
