An Exclusive Interview with Ms. Supriya Rai, Founder & MD at Aayukriti Organic
Step into the world of sustainable wellness. In this exclusive interview, we speak with Ms. Supriya Rai, Founder & MD at Aayukriti Organic, exploring her inspiring journey of building a premium organic brand and redefining healthy, conscious living.
What was the inspiring moment that motivated you to start Aayukriti Organic?
Supriya Rai: Aayukriti Organic was founded on a simple yet important realization: a significant portion of fruits, vegetables, and medicinal plants produced by Indian farmers goes to waste due to inadequate processing facilities and limited market access. I observed that farmers work extremely hard, but often do not receive fair value for their produce.
This inspired the idea that if these natural products could be transformed into value-added powders using modern dehydration technologies, it would not only increase farmers’ income but also provide consumers with natural, pure, and long-lasting products. This vision became the foundation of Aayukriti Organic.
What were the biggest challenges in the early days?
Supriya Rai: One of the biggest challenges was ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality raw materials and building trust in the market. The fruit and vegetable powder industry is still relatively new in India, and educating customers about its benefits and applications was essential.
Additionally, maintaining optimal moisture levels during production, adhering to quality standards, and establishing a brand with limited resources were significant challenges. However, through continuous improvement, research, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction, we successfully turned these challenges into opportunities.
How does Aayukriti Organic work with farmers?
Supriya Rai: We focus on building direct relationships with local farmers and providing them with better market opportunities. Our objective is not just to purchase raw materials but to become a reliable and long-term buyer for farmers.
This model helps farmers receive better prices, reduces post-harvest wastage, and strengthens the rural economy. In the future, we plan to collaborate with more farmers through Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and contract farming models.
How do you maintain supply chain continuity with seasonal products?
Supriya Rai: When dealing with seasonal fruits and vegetables, our strategy is based on advance planning, multi-source procurement, and controlled storage.
During peak harvest seasons, we process sufficient quantities of raw materials into high-quality powders and store them appropriately. This enables us to ensure year-round availability for customers while maintaining consistent quality standards.
What technologies do you use to preserve nutritional value?
Supriya Rai: We utilize controlled-temperature dehydration processes to retain the natural color, taste, aroma, and nutritional value of our products to the greatest extent possible.
Each product has specific temperature settings and processing parameters based on its characteristics. Our goal is not merely to dry the product but to preserve its natural quality and nutritional integrity.
How do you ensure a long shelf life without preservatives?
Supriya Rai: Our quality policy is built on maintaining low moisture levels, following hygienic production practices, and using secure packaging solutions.
Quality checks are conducted at every stage of production. By controlling moisture content, implementing proper packaging methods, and adhering to food safety standards, our products achieve an extended shelf life without the need for artificial preservatives.
How has the B2B sector responded to your products?
Supriya Rai: We have received highly positive responses from the HoReCa, nutraceutical, health food, and food processing sectors. Today, many companies are seeking natural and clean-label ingredients.
Our fruit, vegetable, and herbal powders provide them with a convenient, stable, and high-quality solution. Demand is growing steadily, particularly in the health supplement, instant food, and functional food segments.
What advice would you give to young entrepreneurs?
Supriya Rai: Agriculture-based businesses are not only a means of generating profit but also an opportunity to create a positive impact on society and improve farmers’ livelihoods.
My advice is to begin by understanding a real problem and developing solutions around it. Prioritize quality, transparency, and customer trust above all else. Rather than chasing quick success, focus on creating long-term value. If your purpose is clear and you remain committed to learning and improving, success will naturally follow.
Future Vision
