Kmart shoppers have wasted no time in snapping up a chic new $19 lamp that’s only been available for a few hours.
The brown Marble Portable Rechargeable Lamp is part of the retailer’s new homewares range and, while it’s smaller than average, it’ll be a stylish new addition to your home.
The new item was scheduled to launch nationwide on June 22, but a delay meant it didn’t hit shelves or the website until days later, which sent shoppers into meltdown online.
By Friday morning, it was completely sold out online and at selected stores.

Sydney shopper Christie Allen was among the lucky ones who managed to get their hands on the product.
“I hit the Kmart jackpot. Last one on the shelf. I can literally hear people asking staff if they have any more,” she said in a TikTok.
“Kid you not, people are literally stalking me in the shops asking me where I got it from. I feel like I’m holding something illegal right now.”
Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, the 31-year-old said three people had asked her where she found the lamp in the store.
“One person walked past and said, ‘Oh you got lucky’,” she said.
“There were so many women asking staff if they had any stock that I could overhear from the next aisle – staff were overwhelmed I think.”
The Kmart lamp quickly sold out after launching on the website and hitting shelves.

Videos have also flooded social media, with customers sharing their disappointment after missing out on the product when it sold out.
Tegan Porter managed to get it before the general public and told Yahoo Lifestyle she was pleasantly surprised by the lamp’s quality, noting the rechargeable feature was a “huge selling point”.
“I was actually really impressed with it, especially for the price,” she said.
“The marble base gives it a much more premium feel than I expected from a Kmart homeware item, and it definitely feels sturdy and well-made.”
The chic yet affordable lamp has three lighting settings, which you can flick through with a gentle touch on the top sensor.
It’s rechargeable and comes with a USB cable, so you don’t need to worry about batteries or any long cables.
Tegan praised the cordless design, telling Yahoo Lifestyle it was easy to move throughout the home without worrying about power points or messy cables.

“So far, the charge has lasted quite well for me,” she said.
Nicholas Holmes is a product buyer for Kmart and helped bring the lamp to shelves around the country.
He said the retailer is going for an “aspiration trend” and told Yahoo Lifestyle the lamp is a perfect addition because it’s made from “real marble”.
“It’s got real weight to it,” Nicholas said.
