Druski made a bold move as he kicked off the BET Awards

Druski made a bold move as he kicked off the 2026 BET Awards with a sketch poking fun at mega churches.

The digital creator and comedian who is serving as host at the annual awards show dedicated to black artists, athletes and creatives, and has been known for controversial skits including one aimed at Erika Kirk, once again grabbed atrention as he kicked off the awards show.

Hanging from the ceiling, where he was suspended in the air with a harness and cannons blew smoke at him and music played, he quickly kicked things off by spoofing the churches by saying he had impregnated a woman with the “word of God.” His skit came after a red carpet host raised eyebrows by calling Kanye West an “icon” as Shaun White called him “Sweet man.”

After landing on stage at a pulpit, he called up the woman, and then said he would “impregnate” everyone in the audience.

“Im going to impregnate everyone with the word of God!” he shouted, before gesturing towards various people in the audience and shouting “You’re going to get pregnant with the word o god! You’re going to get pregnant with the word of God!”

The skit also featured him dancing around on the stage and making other religious statements, asking everyone to give money, then counting it in a back office, before driving away in an expensive car and telling a man who said he didn’t pay but asked for prayer for his wife to get his hands off the vehicle.

The preview then saw him once again descending on the audience gathered at Los Angeles’ Peacock theater from a harness as well.

The skit quickly went viral on social media, as many called out the skit and said it was distasteful and they didn’t like it.

“I don’t like church skit at all!!!!” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter), while another added, “It’s sad @Druski making fun od the church at the BET Awards.”

Others disagreed however, admitting they found it to be a humorous spoof on the megachurches and the way they operated.

“Druski don’ brought the church skit to the #BETAwards,” one person noted, while another admitted, “Druski cracking me tf up already!”

Others speculated if it meant other skits would make an appearance – including the one that landed him in hot water over Erika Kirk, which was known as “White Conservative Woman.”

That skit went viral in March, with many condemning the skit because he dressed up in white face to pull it off.

The skit received mixed reactions

In it, he imitated several viral moments that have occurred with Charlie Kirk’s widow, who took over as CEO of his Turning Point USA Foundation following his death.

It included showing her in stage as sparklers went off around her, mimicking his memorial service in Arizona.
