Gordon Ramsay’s $50k Formula 1 Las Vegas garage experience redefines luxury

That is, until 2022, when the sport introduced F1® Garage, an elite hospitality package that puts you in a garage in the same pit lane as the other teams, where one can then soak up the finest cuisine and libations, while being wowed at close quarters. Formula One then took it to new heights last year, partnering with the world’s most famous chef and restaurateur for Gordon Ramsay at F1® Garage.

“My passion for F1 is well known but it’s the complexity and pace of the cars, and the talent of the many people building and controlling them, that appeals so much,” Ramsay said at the time. “In many ways, F1 is like a high-performing professional kitchen, so this is the perfect partnership for us.”

The starting price will shock you, though. If you attend Ramsay’s “home away from home” in Las Vegas, and if you have a spare $50k – why wouldn’t you? – the cost for a three-day visit is $50,422, including taxes and fees. And we’re not joking; it sells out wherever it’s offered.

Is it worth it? As someone who has been in a Formula One garage on many occasions and is a lifelong student of the sport, if you’re a motorsport fan, being that close to the cars in the pit lane is magical. You’ll feel like you’re at the centre of the world, and a part of the sport. That alone is worth the astronomical price.

Could you do the entire world championship calendar for that price, including flights, accommodation, tickets and spending money? Yes, British Formula One superfan Brandon Burgess did that last year on just over £20,000 ($46,000). But, that was done on a shoestring budget, not something an SVIP would do.

Gordon Ramsay at F1® Garage is also the only hospitality package to provide you with access to the Formula One paddock – the sacred working area for drivers, team principals, team personnel and media: the real inner sanctum. Forget having to work your way into the sport, just pick up your pass and you could find yourself face-to-face with Ferrari’s seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton or even Kim Kardashian.

Naturally, all the other elite privileges are included, such as meet-and-greets with Formula One legends, pit lane walks, guided tours of the circuit on a flatbed truck just like the drivers’ parade, even a photo safari with access to restricted locations. Once you’re done, tuck into Ramsay’s all-inclusive premium food and beverage menu.

That’s the other gigantic flex beyond the unrivalled F1 access at the stunning Las Vegas Strip circuit, with 2025’s curated daily menu including the Brit’s famous beef Wellington with potato puree, glazed root vegetables and red wine jus, his Tomahawk Racks with maple roasted Brussels sprouts, macaroni and cheese gratin, or even Ramsay’s Miyazaki A5 wagyu fried rice with black vinegar, bonito and kimchi furikake.

It’s a far cry from what New Zealand’s own Formula One driver, Liam Lawson from the Racing Bulls team, is enjoying, which is considered more fuel than food.

“During the race weekend from Thursday onwards, every meal is planned out – so three meals a day, planned out, by a nutritionist,” Lawson, speaking exclusively to Herald Travel, said. “And each portion size is dependent on what my weight is that weekend. So, it’ll fluctuate between bigger meals, smaller meals, depending on how heavy I am, to try and keep me at a set weight.”

The talented Kiwi liked the look of the pan-seared salmon with cannellini beans, Spanish chorizo and arugula salad, which featured on the Gordon Ramsay at F1® Garage’s 2025 menu. And it squares with something he might have in his pre-Formula One event diet, which he controls to ensure he’s in the zone before his flight to the track.

“I don’t have a specific meal plan that I follow, I just have a good diet,” Lawson said. “Normally it’s quite a lot of food, a lot of protein, because I train a lot when I’m not racing.”

That physical training is crucial for a sport where you’re sustaining in-car temperatures of up to 60C at racing speeds in places such as Singapore and Qatar, pulling up to 6G in corners and under braking. The drivers are also applying about 150kg of stamping force on the brakes for a heavy stop like turn one at Italian track Monza, where in less than 150m a driver might go from 330km/h to 80km/h.

Lawson’s training is therefore tailored to what he needs to do in the car, but like his diet, the 24-year-old has some freedom as well.

“There’s the sessions I need to do that are F1-based [core, neck, etc],” the Kiwi said.

“But, then on top of that, I just personally enjoy being in the gym, and focus on a lot more strength-based stuff because I enjoy lifting and training. I don’t have to worry too much about being too heavy, because nowadays F1’s minimum weight limit has risen from what it used to be. So, we can afford to be a bit heavier, and I can afford to put on a bit of muscle and I enjoy that side of training as well.”

Like all of us, though, Lawson loves a break from healthy eating – and when asked what his greatest guilty pleasure is, the Racing Bulls driver didn’t miss a beat.

“Chocolate is number one that I cheat on my meals with. And then hamburgers, which are my favourite food. Both of which are the best in New Zealand, in my opinion,” the proud Kiwi said.

Formula One is always a good show, and one you can see at close quarters with a special ticket to Gordon Ramsay at F1® Garage. Whether it works for you to be there is down to your bank balance, as spending about three-quarters of the median annual wage on a weekend is no doubt as exciting as it is expensive, as it is delicious.
