The Radio Research Consortium (RRC) is entering a new chapter with changes to its board leadership, plans for a refreshed brand identity and the retirement of a longtime employee whose career spanned nearly three decades.
President and CEO Molly Davis announced that Steve Schram is stepping down as Chair of the RRC Board of Directors after serving on the board since 2012 and as chair since 2020. Schram will remain involved with the organization as a member of its Emeritus Board.
In a message to members, Davis credited Schram with providing steady leadership during a period of significant change for the organization and thanked him for his years of service.
Succeeding Schram as Board Chair is Kevin Krueger, President and CEO of Atlantic Gateway Communications and WGTS Washington, DC (91.9). Krueger brings decades of experience in noncommercial broadcasting, fundraising, audience engagement and organizational strategy.
“It is an honor to be entrusted by the board of directors to serve as the RRC board chair,” Krueger said. “The team and board of RRC are forward-thinking and innovative, continually exploring how best to serve radio clients.”
The organization also named Jim Tazarek, President of Market Enginuity, as Vice Chair. Davis said Tazarek’s experience in sponsorship development and strategic growth will help the RRC continue expanding its services to public radio stations.
The RRC also announced the retirement of Carol Jacobs after 30 years with the organization.
Jacobs joined the RRC in 1997 as a part-time bookkeeper but went on to oversee accounting, billing, human resources, contracts, office operations and production support. During her tenure, she also served as acting president during transitional periods, helped guide the organization’s shift to a virtual workplace and played a key role in maintaining relationships with public radio stations nationwide.
Davis said Jacobs’ willingness to take on virtually any responsibility made her one of the organization’s most valuable employees, noting that her contributions extended well beyond her official duties.
Along with the leadership transition, the RRC announced it will soon introduce a new brand identity. The organization said the updated look is intended to reflect its evolution as a research company that combines audience analytics with the stories and communities behind the data. The refreshed branding will feature new colors and a redesigned visual identity that emphasizes both research insights and audience connections.
