One person was seriously injured after an allegedly armed trio entered a Hawke’s Bay home and assaulted the occupant, police say.

Police were called to the incident at an address on Hill Rd in Bay View, Napier, around 4.20pm on Tuesday.

Three people, allegedly armed with weapons, arrived at
the address and confronted the occupant, a police spokesperson said.

There was then a struggle between the occupant and the three attackers, leaving the occupant with lacerations to their arms, police said.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said one person was taken from the scene to Hawke’s Bay Hospital by ambulance in a serious condition.
